LUCASVILLE -- Kenneth Biros Buddhist spiritual advisers, Eric Wineburg and Bradley Butters, asked prison officials if the condemned killer could wear a white scarf for his scheduled execution.

A prison spokeswoman said she did not know the significance of the white scarf. Biros advisers request was denied, but the Trumbull County murderer would be permitted to hold the scarf during his death by lethal injection.

Wineburg and Butters met with Biros Monday and this morning. Monday afternoon they gave Biros three communion wafers. They returned early in the evening to give Biros five meditation CDs.

Biros listened to CDs, wrote, watched TV and read from a book throughout the evening. After asking for his cell lights to be turned off around 12:30 a.m. he listened to CDs with headphones until falling asleep around 3:30.
